Aggregation and Trade/Sale of Renewable Energy Certificates

For every 1000kW of electricity produced, (one (1) megawatt-hour of renewable energy generation), one Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) or Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) is allotted under the U.S. Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS). Renewable Portfolio Standards are state laws mandating that retail electricity providers obtain a certain percentage of their total annual energy sales from renewable energy sources each year. Currently, 30 states have passed laws setting targets for the amount of electricity that should be produced from renewable energy sources.  SolarPower93 can facilitate the aggregation of our customer’s REC’s and act as an intermediary,  negotiating the price in order for the customer to effectively monetize this critical piece of the revenue stream created by the solar project.  In order to maximize return of customer’s SREC’s, SolarPower93 will determine the disposition of the REC’s, either to a utility company or to some other available purchaser of the REC’s.
